LCD Instrument Cluster USB Update — Safe, Step-by-Step Guide
Update your LCD instrument cluster via USB safely: prepare the drive, verify gor.tar, run the flash, and resolve common issues without bricking.
At a Glance
- USB format: FAT32; file in USB root
- Firmware must be named
gor.tar(lowercase, exact) - Platforms: PO and MOB are not interchangeable
- Process ≈ 3 minutes; screen may go black multiple times
- Remove USB only when prompted → power off & lock car 3 min → restart
Before You Start
- Identify exact model/region from order or Settings → About (MCU/UI).
- Download the official package for your unit.
- Checksum verify the final file you will flash:
Windows: certUtil -hashfile gor.tar SHA256 macOS/Linux: shasum -a 256 gor.tar - Backup CAN protocol, themes, units, language.
- Stable power >12.2V (maintainer ≥10A or engine on, ventilated area).
Prepare the USB Drive
- Use quality USB 8–32GB (USB2/3).
- Format to FAT32 (default allocation). If release notes require exFAT, follow that.
- Copy the firmware to USB root. The final file to flash must be
gor.tar. - Safely eject the USB.
Critical Rules for gor.tar
- Compressed package: Your download may be an archive (e.g.,
.zip,.bz2). Extract it to obtain the finalgor.tar. - Exact name: Must be precisely
gor.tar(all lowercase). Examples:- ✅
gor.tar(correct) - ✅
gor.tar.bz2→ extract →gor.tar - ❌
gor.tar(1),gor (1).tar,gor .tar,GOR.TAR,gor.tar.zip
- ✅
- Platform lock: PO 与 MOB 同名但不可混用。混刷会导致不开机。
- USB root only: 不要放进任何文件夹。
- 版本对比: 升级前在 设置 → 版本信息 对比版本日期。
Run the Update
- 1Ignition to ACC/ON; wait until cluster fully boots.
- 2Insert USB into the cluster harness service port (not media port).
- 3Settings → System → Update → USB Update (some units auto-detect).
- 4Confirm version → Start. Screen may black out / reboot several times.
- 5On prompt → remove USB → power off & lock car 3 min → restart.
Post-Update Checklist
- Verify MCU/UI/OS in Settings → About.
- Restore language, units (°C/°F, km/h/mph), timezone, themes.
- Re-select CAN protocol (brand/model/year) if needed; test SWC, TPMS, indicators, icons.
- Short test drive to confirm speed/RPM/fuel or EV SOC, reverse overlay (if applicable).
Troubleshooting
USB not detected
- Reformat FAT32; try ≤32GB drive.
- Ensure file is gor.tar in USB root (exact name, lowercase).
- Use the service port; try another cable/port.
“Version mismatch” or update rejected
- Wrong model/region. Download the exact package.
- Do not cross-flash PO ↔ MOB.
Won’t boot after update (likely cross-platform mix)
- Symptom: black screen or stuck at logo.
- Fix: obtain the correct platform package; clean FAT32 USB with only
gor.tar; re-flash with stable power.
Stuck at logo / black screen (not cross-flash)
- Keep power stable 10–15 min; some phases are silent.
- Retry with freshly formatted USB and official package.
Lost settings
- Re-apply CAN protocol and themes; major updates may reset defaults.
Can I downgrade?
- Not recommended unless explicitly allowed in release notes; mixing MCU/UI can be unstable.
Safety & Warranty Notes
- Use only Ikagoo-provided firmware for your model.
- Do not cut power or remove USB during flashing.
- Physical damage/water ingress/accidents are not covered.
- Keep photo/video records for support.

- Can I use any USB port?
- No. Use the cluster’s service port, not the head unit media port.
- How do I verify authenticity?
- Compare published MD5/SHA256 with local hash via
certUtil/shasum. - Can I downgrade?
- Not recommended unless release notes explicitly allow it.

gor.tar, then contact support if needed.

You cannot download anything without confirming whether your car’s LCD instrument cluster uses the same system as ours.
