Give the 86 / BRZ Cockpit the Digital Driver Display Its Chassis Deserves

Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ Digital Cluster 2013–2019
A full digital upgrade concentrated in the driver's primary view. Vehicle-specific digital instrument solution for the first-generation Toyota 86 / GT86 / Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ platform.

The Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ Digital Cluster replaces the analogue-led factory gauge area with a vehicle-specific 12.3-inch digital driver display. The purpose is not simply to add another screen. It modernizes the part of the cabin you watch on every drive while keeping the experience centred on driving rather than entertainment.

01 Transform the Driver View, Not the Whole Dashboard The upgrade targets the instrument area that visually dates the cockpit without requiring unrelated interior parts to be replaced.
02 Vehicle-Specific 86 / GT86 / FR-S / BRZ Route This is intended as an instrument-cluster solution for the first-generation platform rather than a universal display adapted to fit.
03 More Space for Driver Information The wide digital format creates a clearer visual hierarchy for speed, RPM and supported vehicle information.
04 Matched Before Dispatch, Supported After Installation iKAGOO uses vehicle details to prepare the correct route and keeps the original order as the reference for future technical support.

Toyota 86, GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ — Different Names, One Shared Buying Question

This sports-car family was sold under different names depending on market and model year. The buyer should therefore identify the actual vehicle, year and steering position rather than relying on one badge name.

North America

  • 2017–2019 Toyota 86
  • 2013–2019 Subaru BRZ
Europe / UK

Common Platform Terms
  • Toyota / Scion ZN6
  • Subaru ZC6
  • 86 / GT86 / FR-S / BRZ
LEFT-HAND DRIVE Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster left hand drive version
LHD is treated as a product configuration, not an afterthought. The steering-side layout should match the dashboard the product is being installed into rather than relying on physical adaptation after delivery.
RIGHT-HAND DRIVE Toyota GT86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster right hand drive version
RHD owners can use the corresponding dashboard route. UK, Japan and other right-hand-drive vehicles should be matched to the correct physical instrument configuration before shipment.
2012 model note: the current iKAGOO listing begins at 2013. A 2012 GT86 / BRZ should not be assumed identical based on appearance alone. Review the vehicle route through the iKAGOO Compatibility & Installation process .

Why This Upgrade Changes the Car

The 86 / BRZ Was Built Around the Driver — So Upgrade the Display the Driver Actually Watches

A centre infotainment screen changes entertainment. A digital instrument cluster changes the driving environment itself. For an owner keeping the car, that distinction matters because the cluster remains in the driver's field of view from startup to shutdown.

01
Newer Cockpit Character

Replacing the analogue-led driver display makes one of the oldest-looking areas of the first-generation interior feel substantially newer.

02
Driver Data Gets More Space

A wide display gives the interface room to separate primary information instead of compressing everything around traditional gauge circles.

03
No Need to Rebuild the Entire Cabin

The cluster becomes the visual centrepiece while the familiar dashboard architecture around it can remain intact.

04
Value That Remains After the Novelty Period

The long-term benefit comes from interacting with a clearer driver display on ordinary journeys, not only from showing a new screen on installation day.

Product Visual Evidence

Ten Product Views — Ten Different Things to Judge Before Buying

These images are not placed here as a gallery filler. Each image is used for one separate buying decision so the page does not repeat the same “12.3-inch digital cluster” message under every photo.

01 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster cockpit integration reference
Judge the integration

The Upgrade Should Look Like It Belongs in the Instrument Area

The first question is not how many graphics the screen can show. It is whether the display occupies the original driver-instrument space in a way that looks deliberate rather than added on.

Buyer value: better physical integration gives the cabin a more finished result.
02 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital instrument information layout
Judge the information hierarchy

A Digital Cluster Should Make Driving Information Easier to Prioritize

A larger canvas only helps when the interface uses the space well. Look for a clear relationship between primary driving information and secondary vehicle information.

Buyer value: the useful gain is visual organization, not screen size alone.
03 Toyota GT86 Subaru BRZ digital cockpit modernization reference
Judge the visual transformation

This Is Where the Cabin Can Gain Years Without Changing the Car

The original sports-car interior remains familiar, but changing the driver's main display can make the cockpit feel from a different generation.

Buyer value: high visual impact from one focused upgrade.
04 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ Linux digital instrument cluster interface
Judge the product role

This Is a Digital Instrument Platform — Not Another Centre Android Radio

The product's purpose is the driver display. Keeping that distinction clear prevents entertainment-system features from being confused with instrument-cluster functions.

Buyer value: you know which part of the car this upgrade is actually solving.
05 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ wide digital gauge cluster reference
Judge the width

The 12.3-Inch Format Is Valuable When It Gives Information Room to Breathe

A wide display can reduce visual crowding and create a clearer separation between the information the driver needs immediately and information that can stay secondary.

Buyer value: calmer visual hierarchy during normal driving.
06 Toyota 86 GT86 Subaru BRZ virtual cockpit visual style
Judge the character

A Digital Upgrade Should Still Feel Appropriate in a Lightweight Sports Car

The 86 / BRZ does not need a heavy luxury-dashboard personality. The stronger route is a modern display that still keeps the cabin visually centred on driving.

Buyer value: modernization without losing the car's simple driver-first identity.
07 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital driver data display reference
Judge daily usefulness

The Best Test Is Whether the Upgrade Still Makes Sense on an Ordinary Tuesday

Themes and animations create the first impression. Long-term value comes from the supported speed, RPM and vehicle information being useful every time the car leaves the garage.

Buyer value: daily-use value remains after the initial novelty.
08 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster hardware fitment reference
Judge version matching

The Right-Looking Product Is Not Automatically the Right Vehicle Version

Market, steering position, model year and original instrument details can matter even when two dashboards look similar in a listing photograph.

Buyer value: vehicle matching reduces wrong-version risk before international shipping.
09 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster installation preparation reference
Judge installation readiness

A Successful Install Is Defined by Function Testing, Not by the Screen Lighting Up

Before the dashboard is closed, the installer should verify the supported driving information and warning behaviour expected from the matched product route.

Buyer value: testing before reassembly reduces repeated dashboard removal.
10 Toyota 86 Subaru BRZ digital cluster product installation reference
Judge the complete upgrade route

The Product Is Only Finished When the Hardware, Configuration and Vehicle Behaviour Agree

Treat the installation as a complete vehicle-electronics upgrade: fit the correct product, connect it correctly, configure where required, then verify the car before final assembly.

Buyer value: fewer unresolved problems get hidden behind finished trim.

Key Product Facts

The Specifications That Matter — Without Turning the Page Into a Parameter Sheet

Specifications are useful when they explain the upgrade route. Claims that vary by hardware or firmware revision should not be treated as universal features unless they are confirmed for the supplied version.

Why Buy From iKAGOO

The Hardware Is Only One Part of a Vehicle-Specific Electronics Purchase

Similar-looking digital clusters can appear at different prices. The higher-risk part of the purchase begins after checkout: receiving the correct version, completing the installation and having someone who can still identify the product when help is needed later.

Compatibility First

Vehicle year, market, steering side, transmission and original-cluster information can be reviewed before dispatch to reduce wrong-version risk.

Version & Connection Preparation

The order is prepared around the vehicle route rather than assuming every 86 / GT86 / FR-S / BRZ uses an identical configuration.

Installation Problem Solving

If an installation, display, connection or configuration issue appears, support is intended to diagnose the route instead of only resending generic instructions.

Long-Term Order Reference

The original order keeps the vehicle and product history connected for later troubleshooting, parts investigation and applicable technical support.

What Happens After You Buy

From Checkout to a Working Digital Cluster

The normal buying route does not require the customer to solve every technical detail before placing an order. The important point is that the vehicle information is reviewed and the correct route prepared before shipment.

STEP 01 Place the Order Complete checkout for the selected digital-cluster product.
STEP 02 Submit Vehicle Details Send year, market, transmission, steering position and original-cluster photos.
STEP 03 iKAGOO Reviews Fitment The vehicle information is compared with the available product route.
STEP 04 Correct Version Prepared Relevant hardware and configuration are prepared before the order leaves.
STEP 05 Install & Test Verify the supported vehicle information before closing dashboard trim.
STEP 06 Keep the Support Route The original order remains the reference if technical support is needed later.

iKAGOO Three-Indicator Evaluation

Three Different Questions Before You Commit to the Upgrade

The three indicators are not one combined score. Each one answers a different buying decision: whether the upgrade is worthwhile, how closely the product route fits the original vehicle, and what level of installer is appropriate.

iKAGOO Upgrade Necessity 91/100 Strong Upgrade Case
iKAGOO Original Vehicle Compatibility 95/100 Strong Function Retention
iKAGOO Installation Ease Level L3/5 Advanced DIY

91/100 — Upgrade Necessity

Direct judgment: this is a strong upgrade for an owner who wants the first-generation cockpit to feel substantially newer without replacing the car.

Scoring evidence
  • 24/25 · Driver-view modernization: the cluster changes the primary display the driver watches continuously.
  • 22/25 · Instrument information value: the wide digital format provides more visual space for supported driving information.
  • 19/20 · Daily-use relevance: speed, RPM and supported vehicle data are part of normal driving rather than occasional functions.
  • 13/15 · Long-term ownership value: the benefit remains relevant for owners keeping the vehicle.
  • 13/15 · Cockpit improvement: the cluster modernizes the interior without requiring unrelated systems to be replaced.
What raises the score
High visual impact, daily driver interaction and a meaningful modernization of a cabin that still uses an analogue-led instrument presentation.
Why it is not 100/100
A healthy factory cluster still performs the essential instrument job. This is a modernization upgrade, not a mechanical necessity for every owner.
Best suited to
  • Owners keeping the car for several more years.
  • Drivers who notice the dated instrument area more than the rest of the cabin.
  • Buyers who want a cockpit upgrade rather than another phone mount or accessory screen.
Stop / reconsider when
  • You strongly prefer the original analogue appearance.
  • Your goal is only to repair a minor OEM-cluster fault at minimum cost.
Buyer meaning: 91/100 does not mean the factory cluster is unusable. It means the upgrade creates enough daily visual and ownership value to make sense for a buyer who actively wants a newer driver environment.

Next step: decide whether your goal is restoration or modernization. If modernization is the objective, this is a strong-fit upgrade category.

95/100 — Original Vehicle Compatibility

Direct judgment: this is a vehicle-specific digital-cluster route with strong integration potential after the correct vehicle version is matched.

Compatibility score structure
  • 24/25 · Factory Function Continuity: supported original driving information remains the central requirement of the upgrade.
  • 14/15 · Original Control Continuity: the new cluster remains part of the original driver-information environment rather than operating as a separate display.
  • 19/20 · Vehicle Data & Warning Integration: supported speed, RPM and vehicle information are expected through the matched product route.
  • 15/15 · Physical Architecture Match: this is designed for the 86 / GT86 / FR-S / BRZ instrument-dashboard family.
  • 14/15 · Factory-Style Interaction Match: the product modernizes the UI while remaining a driver instrument rather than becoming a generic tablet.
  • 9/10 · Installation & Hardware Integration: LHD/RHD and vehicle-matched connection routes reduce adaptation requirements.
What raises the score
Dedicated platform fitment, LHD/RHD routes, vehicle-specific preparation and a matched installation direction all improve confidence compared with a universal display conversion.
Why it is not 100/100
Model year, sales market, transmission, original instrument hardware and software revision can still change the exact configuration required.
Evidence boundary
  • 95/100 does not mean “5% of original functions are lost.”
  • It measures the quality of the fitment and retention route after correct version matching.
  • Unsupported or unconfirmed functions are not silently counted as retained.
Best suited to
  • 2013–2019 listed vehicles that still use their expected original dashboard/cluster architecture.
  • Owners able to provide accurate vehicle and original-cluster information after ordering.
Stop condition
  • Vehicle identity does not match the listed route.
  • The original dashboard or instrument wiring has been substantially modified.
  • A required core vehicle-information function cannot be confirmed for the intended configuration.
Buyer meaning: 95/100 means this is a strong vehicle-specific route, but the correct version still matters.

Next step: place the order and provide year, market, transmission, LHD/RHD and clear original-cluster photos so iKAGOO can prepare the correct version before dispatch.

L3/5 — Installation Ease Level

Direct judgment: suitable for an experienced DIY installer or an automotive electronics installer — not a simple external plug-in accessory.

L1
Easy
L2
Basic
L3
Advanced
L4
Pro
L5
Specialist
Why this is Level 3
  • The original instrument cluster must be removed carefully.
  • Vehicle-matched connectors and supplied hardware must be installed correctly.
  • Product configuration may need to be checked before final assembly.
  • Supported speed, RPM, fuel/warning information and other expected data should be tested.
  • Dashboard trim should remain open until the functional test is complete.
What makes installation easier
The product is designed around a vehicle-specific route rather than requiring the installer to fabricate a universal cluster conversion.
Why it is not Level 2
The job still requires dashboard access, cluster removal, careful connections, configuration checks and functional verification before reassembly.
Recommended installer
  • Experienced DIY owner familiar with vehicle trim and automotive electrical connections.
  • Automotive electronics / retrofit installer.
Stop condition
  • Connectors do not match the reviewed route.
  • The original wiring has unexpected modifications.
  • Critical vehicle information is missing or incorrect during testing.
Buyer meaning: Level 3 is not a warning against buying. It tells you to plan the right installer and to test the vehicle before the dashboard is closed.

Next step: if you are not comfortable removing trim and testing vehicle electronics, use an automotive electronics installer.

Installation & Programming

Does the Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ Digital Cluster Need Coding?

Normal Matched Product Route

The correctly matched aftermarket route is designed around a dedicated vehicle connection rather than a used OEM-cluster conversion. Dealer-style coding is not normally intended as the standard installation path.

What Installation Still Requires

The original cluster must still be removed, connectors checked, configuration completed where required and important vehicle information tested before dashboard reassembly.

A previously modified vehicle, unexpected wiring, non-standard electronics or an original cluster that differs from the expected configuration can change the route. Installation should stop for diagnosis rather than forcing an incorrect connection.

Buyer FAQ

Questions Buyers Usually Need Answered Before Ordering

Is the Scion FR-S part of this Toyota 86 digital cluster product route?
Yes, within the listed product range. In North America the first-generation vehicle was sold as the Scion FR-S before Toyota used the Toyota 86 name. The actual model year and original cluster should still be matched to the supplied version.
Does this fit the Toyota GT86 sold in Europe and the UK?
The GT86 is the Toyota name commonly used for this platform in those markets. Current iKAGOO product coverage uses the 2013–2019 listed range and supports LHD or RHD product routes according to the vehicle.
Can I order first and send my vehicle details afterward?
Yes. The normal iKAGOO route is to place the order and then provide the required vehicle information and original-cluster photos so the version can be reviewed before shipment.
Can the cluster be prepared for MPH or km/h?
The required regional display unit can be matched to the order. State the required unit with the vehicle information. Direct user-menu switching should not be promised unless it is confirmed for the exact firmware supplied with the order.
Does this cluster require programming?
The normal vehicle-matched aftermarket route is not intended to require dealer-style coding. Installation may still require configuration and full functional testing. A modified or unexpected vehicle configuration can require additional diagnosis.
What should be tested before the dashboard is closed?
Verify the important supported driver information for the supplied route, including speed, RPM, fuel or warning/status information and any other expected vehicle data before reinstalling all dashboard trim.
Is this the same as fitting a used newer OEM Toyota or Subaru cluster?
No. A used OEM-cluster retrofit is a different project and can introduce part-number, mileage, immobilizer, transmission and programming considerations. This product is sold as a purpose-built aftermarket digital-cluster upgrade route.

Long-Term Ownership

A Digital Cluster Should Still Have a Support Route After the Installation Day

Vehicle-specific electronics are normally purchased with the expectation that they will stay in the car for years. iKAGOO therefore keeps the original order as the reference for the supplied configuration rather than treating the sale as complete when the parcel is delivered.

During the 12-Month Hardware Warranty

Applicable hardware faults are handled according to the iKAGOO warranty terms, while installation and configuration questions can be tied back to the product and vehicle information connected with the order.

After the Warranty Period

Applicable troubleshooting, compatible software guidance, replacement-part investigation or repair coordination may still be available. Parts, repair or shipping charges can apply outside warranty.

Warranty terms: iKAGOO Warranty Policy . Existing-order assistance: iKAGOO Customer Support .

Ready to Upgrade Your 86 / GT86 / FR-S / BRZ Driver Display?

Place the order, then send the vehicle year, market, transmission, LHD/RHD position and clear original-cluster photos. iKAGOO reviews the route before dispatch and keeps the order available as the technical reference for installation and later support.

Shipping, Returns, Warranty & Order Questions

A practical summary of the main terms that apply to vehicle-specific iKAGOO orders.

01

Where are orders shipped from and how long does delivery take?

Most iKAGOO orders are dispatched from our fulfillment location in China after the product configuration and vehicle information have been checked.

Normal order processing is approximately 1–3 business days. Estimated delivery after dispatch is generally:

  • USA & Canada: approximately 5–9 business days
  • European Union: approximately 7–15 business days
  • UK & Australia: approximately 7–10 business days
  • Other supported regions: approximately 7–20 business days

Customs clearance, holidays, weather, carrier delays and remote-area delivery may affect these estimates.

02

Will I need to pay VAT, import duties or customs charges?

Standard international shipping normally does not include destination-country VAT, import duties, brokerage charges or customs clearance fees.

For eligible European Union destinations, DDP shipping may be available. Import-related charges are included only when DDP is selected at checkout or confirmed by iKAGOO in writing before shipment.

When DDP is not selected, charges collected by local customs or the delivery carrier are normally the recipient's responsibility.

03

Can I request express shipping and how do I track the parcel?

Express or expedited shipping may be available for selected products and destinations. Availability, carrier and any additional cost are confirmed before shipment.

Depending on the route and product type, iKAGOO may use DHL, FedEx, UPS, EMS, 4PX or another tracked logistics provider.

After dispatch, the tracking number or tracking link is normally sent to the email address used for the order. Tracking updates may take several business days to appear during international carrier transfers.

04

What is the return and refund policy?

Return eligibility depends on the reason for return, product condition, installation status, supporting evidence and whether the return has been approved by iKAGOO.

For an approved non-defective return, the product must normally remain unused, uninstalled, complete and suitable for resale. The customer is generally responsible for approved return shipping costs.

Original shipping, DDP, VAT, customs duties and other logistics costs are generally non-refundable unless required by law or otherwise confirmed by iKAGOO.

Do not send a product back before receiving an approved return address and return instructions from iKAGOO.

05

What if the product still cannot be installed after compatibility review?

Additional protection may apply when iKAGOO reviewed the vehicle compatibility, the customer supplied accurate vehicle information and reasonable installation and diagnostic steps have been completed.

If iKAGOO confirms that no reasonable technical solution is available and the issue is reported within 7 calendar days after delivery, the customer may be eligible for a refund of the product price without being required to return the product.

Original shipping, DDP, VAT, customs duties and other third-party charges are not included in this product-price refund.

06

What warranty is provided, and does opening the product cancel it?

Eligible products include a 12-month limited hardware warranty covering verified manufacturing defects and eligible hardware failures under normal use.

Depending on the verified issue, support may include remote diagnosis, configuration assistance, replacement parts, repair, replacement, partial refund or full refund.

Inspection or third-party examination does not automatically cancel the entire warranty. However, damage caused by unauthorized repair, incorrect modification, broken circuits, improper reassembly, incorrect wiring, impact, water ingress or misuse is not normally covered.

Contact iKAGOO before dismantling, modifying or repairing the product so the correct diagnostic procedure can be provided.

07

What if my order arrives damaged or has missing parts?

Contact iKAGOO within 7 calendar days after delivery and keep the original packaging, shipping label, accessories and product.

Please provide clear photos or video showing:

  • The external shipping carton and shipping label
  • Visible packaging damage
  • The product and affected area
  • All accessories and wiring received

After verification, iKAGOO may arrange a missing-part shipment, replacement, repair, refund or another reasonable solution.

08

What if I ordered the wrong version or need to change my order?

Contact iKAGOO as soon as possible and before installation. For address, vehicle configuration or product changes, contact us preferably within 12 hours after placing the order.

An exchange or return may be approved when an incorrectly selected product remains unused, uninstalled, complete and suitable for resale. Customers are normally responsible for relevant shipping costs and price differences.

Vehicle-specific products may enter procurement, programming, testing or configuration shortly after payment. Once preparation or shipment has started, cancellation may no longer be possible, or reasonable costs already incurred may be deducted.

09

What is included in the package?

Package contents vary by product, vehicle model, factory system and selected configuration.

Depending on the product, the package may include the main device, vehicle-specific wiring harnesses, CANBUS interface, adapters, USB cables, antennas, microphones, mounting hardware or other required installation accessories.

Refer to the relevant product photos, specifications and order confirmation for the exact contents of your order.

10

How do I contact iKAGOO for technical or after-sales support?

You can contact iKAGOO through the website contact form, WhatsApp or other available support channels. Typical response time is within 24 business hours.

For faster technical diagnosis, include your order number, vehicle model and year, relevant factory-system photos, product photos and a clear video showing the issue.

Contact iKAGOO Support →

11

Is payment secure and are installment options available?

Payments are processed through the secure payment methods displayed during checkout.

Available card, wallet and installment options may vary by country, currency, payment provider and customer eligibility.

Installment services, including options offered by PayPal or another payment provider, remain subject to that provider's regional availability and approval requirements.
