Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011–2017 Android Head Unit: Bring Modern Navigation and Wireless CarPlay Into Your WK2
Keep the Grand Cherokee you enjoy driving. Transform its center dashboard with a vehicle-shaped 12.1-inch Android display, phone connectivity, independent navigation apps and more control over your music.
Two original memory options: 4GB+64GB or 8GB+128GB. iKAGOO checks the original dashboard and audio configuration before dispatch.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011–2017 Android Head Unit: A Real Change You See Every Drive
This is a center-stack upgrade rather than a small accessory attached to the factory screen. Navigation, music and phone controls move to a larger, portrait-oriented Android display.
Navigation for the Road Ahead. Phone and Music Access for Every Day.
The most useful change is not the number on a specification sheet. It is how the WK2's center screen works during commuting, highway travel and extended ownership.
More Room for Maps and Directions
On the daily drive or a longer journey, use the large portrait touchscreen to view supported navigation applications. Built-in GPS allows the head unit to support navigation apps independently of the factory radio interface.
Connect through compatible Wi-Fi or 4G service where online map data is needed; offline operation depends on the application and downloaded maps.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Keep familiar phone-based directions, calls, music and supported messaging features within reach of the Jeep's center display. You do not need to use the Android system as a replacement for every app you already prefer on your phone.
Both published memory configurations include phone projection. Choosing 8GB RAM does not determine whether CarPlay is included.
Android Apps, 4G Connectivity and Detailed DSP Adjustment
Use supported Android media, navigation and utility applications directly on the unit. A compatible SIM and local network can provide 4G data without relying solely on a phone hotspot; 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1 are also listed.
For music, the built-in 36-band DSP offers detailed equalizer adjustment. Matching the Jeep's standard or premium amplifier path remains part of vehicle-specific configuration.

Watch the Screen Take Its Place in the Grand Cherokee
The original product video lets you compare the WK2 center-stack layout with the 12.1-inch upgrade. Use it to judge how the display fits the dashboard—not as a promise that every vehicle has the same original equipment.

Jeep Grand Cherokee 2011–2017 Android Head Unit Compatibility by Market and Factory System
The product listing covers selected Grand Cherokee WK2 center-dashboard configurations from 2011–2017. iKAGOO matches the correct fascia, wiring and interface according to the vehicle's actual factory setup.
| Market | Vehicle identification | Listed years | Version-selection focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States / Canada | Jeep Grand Cherokee · WK2 | 2011–2017 | Factory radio/Uconnect generation, camera and amplified audio |
| UK / Europe | Jeep Grand Cherokee · WK2; market-specific trim and diesel variants | 2011–2017 product range | Original center-stack layout, LHD/RHD, Uconnect and equipment |
| Australia / New Zealand | Jeep Grand Cherokee · WK2 | 2011–2017 product range | RHD fascia/controls and original camera/audio interface need version confirmation |
| Other supported regions | Grand Cherokee WK2, local-market specification | 2011–2017 listing only | Match against actual dashboard and original system, not market year alone |
Earlier center-radio architecture
Match the original radio face, center climate-control layout, rear connectors, amplifier and reverse-camera arrangement. These installations are not automatically interchangeable with later Uconnect versions.
Later Uconnect configurations
Identify the existing screen size, climate and vehicle menus, premium audio, parking features and factory camera before selecting the interface. Trim names alone cannot identify every required adapter.
Includes vehicle examples sold as Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit and performance trims only where the particular center stack is matched. This 2011–2017 listing does not establish fitment for 2018-on vehicles. See the iKAGOO compatibility process →
Modernize the Screen While Matching the Jeep Functions You Already Use
The Android head unit supplies new multimedia capabilities. Existing cameras, amplifiers, steering controls and vehicle menus require the interface route appropriate to the original WK2 equipment.
Included · New phone interface
Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Android apps, GPS, Bluetooth, network support and DSP are product capabilities.
Matched · Steering controls
Square-style steering-button interface is illustrated in the original media. Exact button mapping depends on wiring and CAN setup.
Matched · Factory audio
Standard and premium amplified systems may require different audio/amp-retention connections.
Matched · Reverse / 360° camera
The display has camera interfaces; actual factory-camera retention depends on signal, decoder, adapter and voltage route.
Matched · Climate and vehicle menus
Later Uconnect configurations can have integrated climate/settings. Retained menus and parking information must be confirmed per vehicle.
Matched · Power behavior
Correct switch-off, sleep/wake operation and battery-current behavior are part of the final installation test.
Factory HVAC, vehicle-setting menus, parking chimes, warning displays and OEM amplifier behavior are not represented here as universally retained. Review the Factory Function Retention Standard →
A Vehicle-Matched Retrofit With a Clear Installation Plan
The supplied approach uses vehicle-specific fascia and compatible harnesses rather than intentionally cutting factory wiring. For this integrated vertical assembly, professional automotive-electronics installation is recommended.
Document factory setup
Record original radio, screen, camera, audio, controls and climate operation.
Remove center trim
Protect the dashboard; remove the original screen and applicable trim/components.
Connect matched hardware
Fit fascia, main harness, CAN module, GPS/USB and relevant camera/audio adapters.
Configure functions
Select the matching vehicle protocol, language, audio and camera settings.
Test before finishing
Verify audio, phone, cameras, controls, climate, vehicle menus and sleep/wake behavior.
Order the Screen. iKAGOO Matches the Details Before Dispatch.
After payment, submit the vehicle year, full center-dashboard photo and original system-screen photo through the secure order link, confirmation email or My Account. Additional amp/camera details are requested only where they change the required configuration.
Once installed, confirm full audio output, the reverse-camera path, steering buttons and the vehicle's correct power lifecycle before the dashboard is closed.
The original documented installation index was Mechanical 11/15 and Electronic 12/15, Level 4/5. The published reference time is approximately 2.5–5 hours for a professional, varying by original system and equipment. Read the installation difficulty standard →
Choose the Memory You Need. Keep More Options for the Years Ahead.
Two memory configurations let WK2 owners decide how extensively they plan to use standalone Android apps and local storage, without paying for higher memory merely to enable phone projection.
4GB RAM + 64GB Storage
A practical match for owners focused on Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, maps, music and a smaller set of compatible Android applications.
Included: Android 13 · 8-core platform · DSP · listed Wi-Fi/4G/Bluetooth functionality.
8GB RAM + 128GB Storage
Provides more memory and local storage for heavier Android multitasking, offline files and a wider collection of compatible apps.
Included: Same published core multimedia capabilities, with greater RAM/storage capacity.
The original complete product and fascia image is also retained in the Specifications section below. Different Android applications and languages are subject to version and regional support.

Your Grand Cherokee Deserves Support After the Screen Is Installed
With a WK2 retrofit, a product photo cannot tell you which CAN settings, camera interface or software package fits your original configuration. The value of ordering through iKAGOO is a traceable vehicle-and-product record and a defined technical support route.
Match the actual vehicle
iKAGOO checks the submitted dashboard and original system details and prepares the appropriate version, harness and interface route for the order.
Work through configuration
When a workshop needs help with audio, camera, steering controls, CAN options or setup, the order and installation evidence provide a starting point for remote guidance.
Find the right technical route
Device-version records support consultation about available firmware, settings, diagnostics, compatible parts and repair or upgrade possibilities.
Software support is more useful than an unexplained “update available” button
Some Android units offer automatic or built-in updating; that method is not established for every FD-147 hardware revision. An update may require manual, version-matched guidance, and some symptoms are caused by wiring or configuration rather than software. iKAGOO's published support framework provides a route to assess the actual unit instead of suggesting a generic firmware file.

How This WK2 Upgrade Scores as a Buying Decision
These are iKAGOO editorial estimates based on listed FD-147 capabilities and its documented installation route. They are not independent laboratory results or a guarantee for an unreviewed vehicle.
Upgrade Value · Strong
- Integrated 12.1-inch portrait screen replaces the original center multimedia area.
- Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto modernize familiar daily phone use.
- Standalone Android navigation and connected apps provide another operating route.
- 36-band DSP adds fine audio adjustment.
Buyer value: A substantial, daily-visible infotainment change for a WK2 kept long-term.
Why not 10/10? The score represents owners wanting the complete screen/app change, not a measured improvement for every driving pattern.
Score basis: Product feature delta and likely daily use; editorial, scenario-dependent. Upgrade-value method →
OEM Retention · Conditional
- The WK2-shaped fascia and matched wiring approach offer an integrated route.
- Steering-control interface and factory-camera graphics are documented on the original page.
- Camera, amplifier, HVAC and vehicle-menu continuity require the proper CAN/adapters.
- 2011–2013 and 2014–2017 factory architectures are reviewed separately.
Buyer value: Upgrade while preparing the correct connection route for the Jeep's existing equipment.
Why not 10/10? Complete vehicle-specific retention has not been established for every trim and factory system.
Score basis: Provisional integration assessment, not “70% of factory features retained.” OEM assessment method →
Installation Friendliness · Specialist Fit
- The fascia follows the center-stack format instead of a floating universal tablet.
- Matched harnesses limit the intended need for factory-wire alteration.
- Dashboard removal, interface-module placement and protocol setup remain necessary.
- Final testing includes amplifier, camera, vehicle menus and sleep/wake behavior.
Buyer value: A defined professional installation path with after-sales technical assistance.
Why not 10/10? Original documented work is Level 4/5: mechanical 11/15, electronic 12/15.
Score basis: Installer effort, integration and verification requirements. Installation method →

Nathan McKenzie –
I mainly wanted a larger screen, wireless phone integration and better audio adjustment. This unit covers all three. The screen is bright, music and map controls are well organised, and the 36-band DSP offers much more flexibility than the factory settings. Allow enough time for installation and initial audio setup.

Fits my RHD Australian spec 2014 Grand Cherokee like a glove, no gaps or creaks on rough outback corrugated roads. I opted for the Octa-core version with a 4G SIM slot, and running Hema Maps or Google Maps autonomously is fantastic when touring. The air conditioning touch control screen works flawlessly. Shipping to Sydney was fast, and it was packed with heavy foam.
Ryan McAllister –
The screen fits the dashboard better than I expected. Setup took some time, especially getting the audio adjusted the way I wanted.
