Before You Start

What does this installation actually involve?

The job is not a simple screen swap. The factory center stack is removed in stages, several original modules are transferred into the new fascia, the original connectors are reconnected through the matched wiring route, and the screen is tested before the dashboard is closed.

Before installation. Record the original dashboard, factory display and physical button layout before removing any trim.

After installation. The original modules and vehicle-specific functions are integrated into the replacement vertical-screen fascia.

Important audio architecture: this installation route uses an audio-output-to-USB path for the factory vehicle audio system. Later steps show the adapter connection and no-audio diagnosis separately instead of mixing them into the basic wiring section.

Dashboard Removal

Steps 1–11: remove the original Silverado center stack

Follow the order. Do not jump directly to the screen or pull the complete center panel before its surrounding trim and connectors are released.

Step 1 · Screw Caps & Fasteners

Remove the screw caps and fastening screws

Start with the fasteners securing the trim panels on both sides of the dashboard.

Locate the screw caps first. Remove the caps, then remove the screws underneath.

DoRemove the screw covers and the fasteners underneath them.

WhyThe side trim cannot release correctly while these screws remain installed.

CheckConfirm the visible side-trim fasteners are completely removed.

Stop: do not pull hard on the side panel while a fastening screw is still installed.

Step 2 · Side Trim Panels

Release the left and right trim panels

The trim is retained by clips after the screws are removed.

Release the clipped side trim progressively instead of bending one end sharply.

DoPull the left and right trim panels away from their retaining clips.

WhyThis exposes the center-console removal path.

CheckClips remain intact and the panels are fully free.

Stop: if one section stays rigid, check again for an unreleased clip or fastener.

Step 3 · Front Center Console Trim

Lift the front center-console trim upward

The reference sequence lifts this panel upward to release it from the console.

Lift the front center-console trim in the direction shown. Do not pull attached wiring with the trim.

DoLift the front trim upward until it detaches from its mounting points.

CheckThe trim is loose but still supported until its connector is disconnected in Step 4.

Step 4 · Console Connector

Disconnect the center-console connector

Do not move the removed trim away until its electrical connection has been released.

Release the connector lock before separating the center-console trim from the vehicle.

DoPress the connector release and unplug the console connection.

CheckNo wire remains attached to the panel before you place it aside.

Do not: pull the connector out by its wires.

Step 5 · Lower Console Trim

Remove the trim at the bottom of the center console

Step 6 · Main Center Trim

Step 7 · Mounting Screws

Step 8 · Center Control Panel

Step 10 · Climate Plug

Disconnect the original air-conditioning connector

Release the original climate-control plug from the removed center-control assembly.

Step 11 · Lower Factory Connections

Disconnect the hazard, USB and cigarette-lighter connections

These lower factory connections must be unplugged before the original modules can be transferred.

Release the lower original-function connectors before removing the modules from the old fascia.

DoDisconnect the hazard-button, USB-port and cigarette-lighter/power connections that match the supplied installation route.

Steps 12–17: move the original Silverado hardware into the new fascia

Step 12 · Remove Retained Modules
